Roof Top Deck: The balusters have all been spaced using an inch calculator so they are all equal. I don't like it when I see railing balusters that end with a narrower spacing than the rest of them.
Curved Deck: 'Just to save a two hundred year old apple tree. A mahogany deck with cedar posts designed to compliment this historic home.
This is my favorite design. I am so thankful to Faye for letting me talk her into this.
Cape Cod Driftwood Stair Railing
Deck & Privacy Fence: I politely made a recommendation to the architect. I suggested that she bump the deck out to the corner gaining a valuable three and a half feet. I also suggested two privacy screens, not one. She disagreed. A year later the customer called me back to carry out my idea (see the color difference?)
Front Yard: Same very special customer. We built a completely new deck including new floor joists here. All the railings had to be repaired and re-assembled. The rotted column bases were repaired with the Abtron epoxy system. Notice the rounded outside corner. I'm not telling how I did that.
Cape Cod Driftwood Railing
Back Yard: For one of my very special customers. We used the left over mahogany decking to build the benches.
Cape Cod Driftwood: How's this for a treat? My customer had some driftwood she had collected in Cape Cod. She asked me if I could make a railing with them. I love a challenge!
Please don't tell the Building Inspector ; )
Brass Pin: The radius is supported by a 3/8 inch brass pin under the kick space. This will allow someone to hang or step on this railing ( as children will do ).
